Wow, what a crazy week! I hope everyone has stayed safe and warm. Sorry I am several days late in posting in our Blog. Our week has consisted of catching up to fill the store back again, bringing in Valentine's decor, a storage auction, trying to work on the basement, and oh yeah..preparing for a BLIZZARD!!!
At the start of our week, we did get a little completed on our basement. The floors are finally cleaned and shiny. The middle silver tin is up and the pendant lights are up over the bar. A huge note to self: "Always, Always, ALWAYS lay down a drop cloth when you paint". Nicholas and I learned the hard way. After hours and hours of scraping, using paint thinner, and even sanding we finally got most of the paint and other stuff off the concrete.
We then started to work on several pieces for the store and decided to see if we could find anything at a storage auction as starting projects. Of course it had to be the coldest day of the year..brr. Which worked in our favor. Not too many people were there and we actually snatched up two units. It was nothing like Storage Wars and there wasn't a Dave Hester yelling Yuuup, thank goodness.
The rest of the week was spent getting ready for all of the snow!! Stacking firewood, buying groceries, ice melt and a snow shovel. (Now thinking a snow blower would have been better). Anyway, the snow is now here and the kids are loving it and so are we. We closed the store yesterday and today to keep everyone safe. It is rare that we take days off from running around and making stuff but that is exactly what we have done the last two days. I must say it has been wonderful. Tomorrow I have a feeling I will be fully motivated to get busy making stuff.!!
Whatever you decide to do on these beautiful snow days, please be safe and "Cherish Every Moment" of it.
