This week we had to vere away from a basement rehab a little. After a very busy weekend in the store, it looked a bit empty. So it was quite important that we spent most of our day making new items for the store. We did get to work a little on the basement too. So here are photos of both :-)
We did get a chance to work on the basement ceiling. We went with the rusty corrugated tin. The tin actually came off of the roof of Jeremie's parents' chicken building. Made a huge difference and takes recycling to another level. Very low cost and preserves a part of history.
I also started working on the floor this evening. I decided against staining the concrete. Mainly because of time. We have been working on our basement for 6 years now and I'm ready to have it done!!! LOL. Anyway, I decide a much quicker approach. I scraped the paint off the concrete and scrubbed it clean. Then mopped with QuickShine! I love the simple look it has. I only completed a small section but it was enough to know I am going to love it. Hopefully we will have more time next week to complete a lot more!! (Of course I will not complain if we have another busy weekend in the store)
As I said before, we had projects to work on for the store after a busy weekend. Here are a few items we finished.
Check out this gorgeous purple chest of drawers!! Everyone wants this in their room..lol. A little paint and modge podging old music makes a world of difference. I think a much better fit for a room this way!
This entertainment center was Jeremie's project. It's amazing what some paint, some shelves, and a little distressing can do!!
This one was my project. Some sanding, painting, and distressing makes this piece look completely different. I love that it has wheels. Such a great storage cabinet. Would make a great mini bar.
Here are a two other pieces we completed for the store. Jeremie made this adorable kid's bench out of a bed. I love his benches!! I distressed this antique dresser to give a unique rustic feel to any room.
Well that is all completed for today. A few more projects were started and will hopefully be completed soon. Be sure to tune in to our blog next week to see our latest DIY projects. Have a wonderful week and remember to Cherish Every Moment!!
