This week we focused on cleaning and organizing rooms in our home. For some reason all of our matching furniture has never been in the same room. We seem to have a piece here and a piece there. So a great place to start, would be to put all of the matching furniture in a room and declutter and decorate.
Blue Ridge Log Homes will be showing our house on occassions as a model build and has asked for pictures for when a trip out to the house doesn't suit. So that means we have a lot of cleaning, organizing, and decorating to do. We are hoping to work on every room and by mid spring be finished inside and then head outside.
We worked on Noah's room and one of the upstairs bedrooms. Nicholas and Noah helped some on Saturday with changing out beds and furniture upstairs and Jeremie and I tackled the dreaded draw and closet clean out in Noah's room yesterday. I'm pretty sure we took a good seven trash bags to the dump. He hasn't missed a thing, yet had he been home, everything would have been a necessity to keep.
Here is Noah's room with less broken toys and trash. Smaller matching furniture that the boys and I distressed made a huge difference.
You know the room was a disaster when you are extremely excited that you can see the floors..lol.
For the upstairs guest room, we moved our log bedroom suit in it and cleaned. It is the largest room in the house so it best accomodates the bulkiness of the log furniture. It has been in almost every other room in the house and never worked. It seemed to always be way to crowded. I think it has finally found its home in that room. At least according to Jeremie, it better have because we aren't moving it anymore. He even threatend to nail it down this time and if we ever sell the house "it goes with it". lol.
Hopefully we can organize some more this upcoming week and get back to working on the basement. I know we will also need to start upcycling the items we purchased last week at the auction. Never a dull moment but life's too short to lay around and do nothing!!
Wishing you all the best upcoming week!
